Draw Chain.
Telephone, but with drawings. One player writes a sentence, the next draws it, the next guesses the drawing - and nobody sees more than the last step. The album at the end is where it all falls apart.
How a round works.
- 01
Write a sentence
The sillier the better
- 02
Draw it
You only see the last line
- 03
Guess it
What is that supposed to be?
Draw Chain rules.
Draw Chain is the telephone game with drawings: a sentence turns into a sketch, the sketch into a guess, the guess into the next sketch - and nobody sees the whole chain until the end.
- 1
The host creates a lobby, everyone joins with the 6-digit code - 3 players minimum.
- 2
Everyone writes a sentence to start their own chain. The sillier the better.
- 3
Each sentence is passed to the next player, who has to draw it. All players draw at the same time.
- 4
The drawing goes to the next player, who only sees the sketch and writes down what they think it shows.
- 5
Writing and drawing alternate until every chain has been through the whole group. Then the album reveals every step - and where it went wrong.
Draw Chain - questions & answers.
What is a drawing telephone game?
Like the telephone game, but instead of whispering you draw. Each player only sees the previous step, so the original sentence drifts further away with every drawing. The album at the end shows the whole chain.
Do I need to be able to draw?
No - the worse the drawings, the funnier the album. Everyone draws on their own phone with a finger, no stylus needed.
Does anyone have to wait while the others draw?
No. Every player starts their own chain, so all players write, draw and guess at the same time. Nobody sits around waiting for their turn.
How many players, and what does it cost?
3 to 99 players, each on their own phone. wayoff. is free on iOS and Android, with no sign-up required.
